Robert Burns Masonic Lodge #97: Malheur Cave
Wednesday 08/26/15 - Sunday 08/30/15
It is with great pleasure that I tell you about the award Lodge 211 and Lodge 77 received April 29 2014.
The Seven Seals Award is the broadest and most inclusive award given by the ESGR, ( Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) as it may be awarded to employers, ESGR staff members and volunteers, or any person or entity that significantly advances the ESGR mission. It is presented at the state and national levels, we got the state level award.
WB Brian Buchanan, Brother Doc Meyer, MWB Lyle & Pat Logan and I took the trip to Newport where the ESGR had two rooms reserved for us.
The award ceremony was very impressive and a special tribute to medics was powerful. They lined us up and gave a brief overview of what we do. When they asked for a brief comment I was ready. I will type it as I remember it. "Eight years ago my son joined the Marine Corps, before he shipped to boot camp we threw him one hell of a barbeque. Invited everyone we new and had the pastor pray over the boys and everything else. After he shipped to boot camp I went down to the recruit station and was telling the Staff Sergeant about it. He told me that my son was very lucky because not all recruits got that kind of support.
BY GOD NOW THEY DO!"
Thanks to our Masonic community, they do now!
